Building, Growing. Building what?  Growing who?  Why would anyone want to read about building, buildings or growing people?

Buildings are interesting. They can be engineering marvels; especially buildings intended for public use.  Buildings have a design, some very eloquent. Architects are half engineer and half artist. To an architect a building design is like the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, a master painting. And buildings have a purpose; they serve people. Maybe some buildings are even designed specifically to grow people.

Buildings do not build themselves. People, they build buildings. People must be organized to build buildings. People must be led to provide the resources to build buildings. People must grow into the process of building buildings. If we want great buildings we need to grow great people, and to grow great people there must be a great purpose and a great vision.

All of the characteristics necessary to build great buildings or complete any challenging project require great leadership. Why, because people are the builders and they must catch the vision and grow into a team that will see success. Leadership is never easy, it’s always a challenge. Those leaders called upon to build great buildings, must be sustained by a force greater than themselves, because the path will be steep and the journey may be long.  To persevere, the leader must catch the vision and have great faith.

This is the story of Growing and Building; Growing and Building to declare His power to the next generation. It is Officers’ Christian Fellowship’s story of growing people to build buildings that will grow military people and families in the ways of the Lord.  It is the story of leadership exercising great faith that was sustained by the power of prayer. It is a story for anyone who may find themselves in a position to exercise leadership.

Portions of this story will unfold in the weeks to follow, but the miraculous details can be found now in Growing and Building, Faith, Prayer, and Leadership.  Don’t miss it. You will be blessed.
